He is a member of many programming committees and a reviewer of international conferences and journals. His presentation is titled:
Big Data for Management. Issues and Research Challenges
It is hard to imagine modern society without supporting by information technologies. Especially managers active in all sectors need effective data processing in order to take correct decisions. Therefore Big Data as very advanced approach including many dimensions of data structures creates new opportunities for management. Discussion about novelties coming from Big Data solutions is essential in order to understand its usability in decision making. They embrace genesis and fundamentals of Big Data technology, necessary infrastructure, and considering of benefits as a result of richness of data streams and advanced processing methods used. Analysis of undertaken projects and published papers related to applying Big Data in management is strictly connected with arising challenges crucial from theoretical and practical points of view.

- Marcin Hernes (Wrocław University of Economics), PhD habilitatus in Economics, and a researcher in Wroclaw University of Economics, director of the Center of Intelligent Management Systems. He is the author and co-author of over 120 papers published in national and international publishing houses. He is also a participant of scientific national and international conferences. The fields of his scientific interests include: artificial intelligence, cognitive technologies, distributed decision support systems, knowledge management, conflicts in multi-agent systems, consensus methods. Marcin Hernes is a practitioner in the scope of management systems, coordination and automation of production processes, digital systems of measurement, systems of distributed data bases, and multi-agent decision support systems. Apart from that, he is the author of several dozen computer applications that function in industrial enterprises or state-owned institutions. His presentation is titled:
Cognitive Technologies in Management Information Systems Management information systems should have the function of automatic analysis of the real significance of the observed business phenomena and processes as well as decision making at the tactical, operational and strategic levels. Therefore knowledge in these systems should be represented and processed using semantic methods understood as methods reflecting ontology, semantics of knowledge. To implement these functions, cognitive technologies can be used. They are an artificial intelligence tool based on computer models of mind action. Their goal is to implement specific patterns of cognitive functions for testing these functions on a wide range of issues. They allow not only for quick access to information and more efficient searching the information, analysis and drawing conclusions, but also they have cognitive skills enabling learning through empirical experience. They allow for automatic generation, making and implementing decisions. Consequently, it leads to improved implementation of business processes in the enterprise. The aim of the researches is to develop methods for business processes supporting, in integrated management information system, using cognitive technologies. On the basis of research experiments it can be concluded, that using the cognitive technologies allow for improving the level of decision’s effectiveness.
